A match he should be winning, but a good result nonetheless. As has been mentioned his first match of the season on clay and against a clay court specialist so he'll be pleased to avoid a potential slip up. This week looks a great opportunity for him to go deep and potentially pick up his 1st challenger title!
Hi spaced. You will be pleased to learn that kyle has already won a challenger title (hong kong earlier this year) not won a clay challenger ti date though so that would be a first for him :)
Kyle is now the highest seed left in the draw, Sijsling (3) having gone out to the Italian WC, Quinzi, by 2 & 5 & Brown (2) to Lamasine by 4-6 6-3 3-6!

Ahh. The unpredictability of the red stuff. Don't you just love it.
Kyle first up tomorrow at 12 noon local or 11am UK time. Marcora strikes me as hit and miss. Can be brilliant but has the ability to implode as well.
And there was I wondering what had happened to Mr Quinzi as we discussed various promising juniors and their transitions. Has he been injured? He's another whom I'd have expected to see well ahead by now.
Qunzi is ticking over quite nicely, he's a year younger than Kyle ie just turned 19 and has picked up a hatful of futures wins all on clay. Like Kyle he is no giant and on the same sort of development gradient. Turned Kyle over in Wimbledon junior semis and now on his favourite surface, given its also Kyles will be a good test.
I watched the Quinzi match just for my general interest. He's an absolute nutter, played very well though. Reminded me of Fognini a bit. He had a couple of wins in a Challenger last week so he's getting there
