Pity. But hopefully James is fine and something to build on. Certainly seemed to markedly improve after his first match here.
Another 10 ranking points is not really helpful for his top 100 aspirations. His 18th best was already 10 and now he has three back-up currently non counting 10s.

He is playing the Ostrava challenger next week and unless there is a wild card to a fairly high ranked player he will be the second seed. Reaching the final there would most likely be be enough to make the top 100 (SF could be close but probably not enough).
It's looking suspiciously like it. It's a pity he couldn't get that first set tiebreak.
I don't think we can assume that he still has a problem with the knee just because he lost the 3rd set 6-1.
My thoughts too, we make excuses of injuries for our losing players, but I prefer to wait for confirmation.
I wasn't "making excuses", my comment was based on BiS's comment in the first match about him limping a little. Also we do know he had a knee injury prior to this tournament.
