You'll be even more delighted to be proved wrong again SC. Today's win was FQR. Wardy is in the MD

So he is!  Silly me!   I was checking the live draw on the live scoreboard &, for some reason, misinterpreted the evidence of my own (admittedly old & failing) eyes!   scratchhead2.gif  Well done, Dino! jump4joy.gif

Trying to calculate everything but James could possibly be one win in the main draw away from top 100....

What points does he get for qualifying?

10 for qualifying and 20 for main draw win. 2 wins would def be enough but then I think James has only managed that twice in his career at ATP level

He's drawn Marsel Ilhan. Looks very winnable!

James missed the best Q spot but got one of the alright ones. Ilhan is winnable, but 5th seed Lopez in R2 would be a push.

Wow. What a roller coaster. And I am just talking about the 6 hour drive home.

It was a tough decision to leave Barcelona as I really wanted to stay an extra day in the hope of seeing James and Jamie/John on Monday. But in the end, I took the responsible/boring decision that work commitments came first. After all, when I left, there was no guarantee that either would be playing tomorrow, and if they were late starts, I wouldn't have been able to stay long enough anyway. It wasn't worth the risk.

Halfway home, I stop and see Jamie/John on at 11am and Wardy at about 2pm tomorrow. That would have been feasible. I was gutted. So much so that 3 hours into my journey, I even considered turning around and going back.

In the end however, common sense ruled and I kept going. Fortunately so as the case would be, as Wardy's match was later removed from tomorrow's OoP and put back to Tuesday. Had I turned around and gone back, only to discover this late change when I got there, I would NOT have been a happy bunny.

Great two days though. Disappointed not to have been able to catch up with Beechy, but Wardy's dominant performance today more than made up for that.

Glad you had a good time Bob - unfortunately real life has to happen occasionally!
But well done for making the trip in the first place and thanks for your insights!

Jamie and John have taken the 1st set 6-4 and have also broken in the opening game of the 2nd. *1-0

Bob is suffering withdrawal symptoms.

"Occasionally" is far too often in my way of thinking. cry

Had a great time though.  Thanks.

Jamie/John lost the 2nd set on a breaker. Into an MTB.

R1:  Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 51 (26+25) defeated André Begemann & Julian Knowle (GER/AUT) CR 80 (38+42) by 6-4 6-7(2) [10-7] smile

Considering Jamie & John have "form" on clay (three titles:  Houston, beating the Bryans & Gstaad in 2013, then Munich last year), it would have been really disappointing if they'd lost that!
