Like Mervatron I think it could be an interesting final. However - and I know it looks like I'm denigrating Johanna Konta's achievements here - but the fact she has only dropped nine games so far I think has got more to do with facing some very mediocre to low quality opposition rather than any clear indicator of JK's form. I know somebody has to be the top seed but to climb the rankings (which I assume she would do) on the strength of beating a field as weak as this would just make her ranking look a bit false imo - but that's how it works!
Why is she playing this event anyway? Is she desperate for points? Is it a confidence issue? Scheduling? Convenience? What?

But ITF wise, there is only one tournament above 50K anywhere this week, a Colombian clay 50K+H, and next week the USA 25K, which she has also entered, is the only ITF tournament even at that level.
Bookending these two USA 25Ks are USA 50Ks,.the one at the start of the month she withdrew from for some reason and she is entered for the one after the two 25Ks.
Maybe Jo wanted to step away for a bit from WTA level and indeed get some matches and wins under her belt, and in the limited ITF choice this USA run probably makes more sense than anything.
