Well fought by Amanda. Another good win.

A further win would take her to her second 25K final ( previous being Buenos Aires in November 2012 ).

It would also take her to 127 points a week on Monday. On the current rankings that would take her past her 2013 CH 306 and to just outside the top 300. Might as well win the title to make sure of these!

Bah! Still a great week for Amanda. I read an interview with her on an Italian sports website (written earlier this year soon after winning her titles in Mallorca) in which she says she plans on playing the grass events in Britain and hopes to get into Wimbledon qualies. She is aiming to be top 250 by the end of the year and top 200 by the end of 2016. Good luck to her. If she can continue to get decent runs at 25K level then she'll be well on her way.

I'm not sure where she's playing next - I think I saw her in a 15K in Cairo on clay.

Thanks, Pockytastic, interesting about Mandy's grass court plans

With her putting herself into the mix for a Wimbledon qualifying WC and Laura, if back, I would think likely to take up a MD WC ( rather than PR place ), there appears to be an oversubscription of candidates for the 8 GB ( MD + Q ) WCs.

Perhaps quite a lot to play for in the next couple of months for some.

Shame she couldn't win that one. But a great week. Consistently winning at 25k level would get her top 250 sooner rather than alter.
