I would hardly describe a narrow victory over a 32 year old ranked 217 with her best days probably behind her as great stuff.

Well done Naomi

It's good that Naomi seems back in generally more consistent form and hopefully she can build on that into the summer.

But as for this win in itself, I do rather agree with A131.

Exactly. Naomi hasn't really had many wins since Wimbledon so we have to take them when we can.

A win is a win, and that of course is the real aim and is no 1, but quite clearly all wins are not great, tremendous or whatever.

I don't think Andy for instance gets given that priviledge much :)

The next few weeks are crucial for Naomi to maintain her ranking as she has a 25K and a 50K win to come off in the next month(however after Wimbledon next to nothing). I assume she will be going back out to Japan again.

Well done, Ms Broady. Whether or not Ms Coin is hardly a force in the land (and the point is taken), a little enthusiasm when people do well never goes amiss.

yes, the last time Naomi won 3 matches on the trot was in Glasgow so she appears to be doing well on British soil at the moment.

 well done Naomi :)
