If the stats are correct Beth may have lost 10 on the bounce - 4-2 down second set.

Very decent looking overall scoreline from Beth, if rather unevenly come about.

In the doubles, Beth and Jazzamay have got a walkover win against the second seeds . ..

So that's four Brits in the semis already . . . :)

Good effort from Natasha, could have picked up a couple more games but couldn't take her break point chances.

As anticipated just Naomi left in the singles.

However, while I know there were some good R1 draws there still hasn't generally been the carnage that some of us feared. Well done, girls.

Yes. And Beth will certainly feel the benefit - with a huge jump up to WR 890 or so

And Natasha now has two scorers.

The doubles will keep a bit of interest for the partisan spectators. As - hopefully - will Naomi in the singles . ..

I think for those who have an all court game - especially the attacking/offensive type - doubles is fantastic for developing that (if you play with that in mind). So hopefully Beth, Jazz and Mirabelle should I suppose welcome the semi "berth" not necessarily for the points and/or cash.

I think one of the best things about some success in the doubles is not so much the tennis development but just being in there, in the mix, at the business end of a 'serious' competition. It's a different feeling, a 'pro' feeling . .. good luck to them :)

Yeah - the best of both, it's all development - mental side being in the mix and "pro" feeling, etc.

And sorry Megan for forgetting you, wasn't intentional :).

Boosting the British presence in the dubs even further, Naomi and partner won through in a MTB - 10-3 :)
