RE: Week 14 - ITF ($25K) - Barnstaple, UK Hard

Natasha Hillyer leads Lister 6-2 5-2* not someone I've heard of before but looks like a nice win in the making.

As you said, murray, a surprise in the making.

Natasha wins through, in two easy-ish sets. Brilliant.

I see Hillyer's name a lot on the British Tour events (indeed, she retired from her final/semi (?) only a week or so ago so must have been injured - so glad she's better now).

But she's 26 and been around a while - others must know her better than me.

Ceire Mullins also put up a good fight against the top Q seed, 7-6 6-2, I think.

3 through is better than expected.
Let's hope for some kind draws.

Natasha cane through qualifying last year, so must enjoy Barnstaple.

Well, well - Mirabelle Njoze has turned up in the doubles - maybe a MD wildcard ????

Well two nice draws and then a few tough ones. Especially for Naomi.

yes, but that was the Swedish woman that 16 year-old Gabi Taylor thumped in Wimbly QR1.

And 5 ranking points is certainly going to do wonders for the fortunes of the four players concerned . ..

Interesting wild card for Mirabelle - never seen one in her record before now. Was wondering where she was past month or so.

Mirabelle and Emma do have the toughest draw. Looking at Mirabelle's record, she seems to be attracting tough draws wherever she goes.

Beth should win and climb to around 900.
The other all British clash could go either way.

Not sure what form Arvidsson is in these days, but she was rather useful on her day.
Mirabelle might put up a fight. The other two will be lucky to must half a dozen games between them.

As you say, Tennislover, first time Mirabelle seems to have connected with the UK. Just wonder if she's got her eyes on grass tennis and possibly the Wimbledon Q place play-offs ? Or maybe just an Easter break. . . No idea where her family were/are based over here . . .

That French woman maybe feels in the money in her section of the draw. Hopefully not too much.
