RJA. Some would consider offensive? I'd say most would consider his views offensive.

Also he has very sexist views so it's not just his view on homosexuality.

Being a major sports 'star' comes with responsibilities. And if you can't deal with that accept the consequences.

Tipsarevic has no 'reponsibility' to hold views that are deemed proper by the majority or not to have views that many may find offensive.

Just don't use his platform as a tennis star to preach his views ( and I have no idea how particularly outspoken he has been ).

Why on earth should he not express his views publicly?

Did I miss a revolution where you were appointed supreme arbiter of what is and isn't acceptable to be spoken in public.

Don't accept the job, Mervatron. Too much hassle and time - so many things to moderate, evaluate, adjudicate .... you really don't want it. Send back the revolution!

More seriously, Mr Tipsarevic's views on women's tennis (which I looked up, intrigued by the above) are indeed offensive. But like RJA, I think he has a right to articulate them ... just as I have a perfect right to decide that I will, in consequence, not support him.

Tennis is an elitist sport. I'm not going to highlight what's already been discussed from many sides before. However, when women are still considered 'inferior' by male athletes when 'rewarded' the same. Well other minorities don't stand a chance despite their talent
