Marcus was then broken again to go 3-4* down, but immediately broke back. We are on serve at *4-4

Yet another break though (5 from 9 games) and Sugita will serve for the set at *5-4

Marcus got to 0-30 but Sugita holds on to take the 1st set 6-4.

Still get the feeling that if Marcus can get his serve working again, then this match is not over.

Spoke too soon. Marcus throws in 2 DF's and gets broken for the 4th time in a row.

0-1*

Not sure if the scoreboard is stuck or whether someone has a problem. It has been showing Marcus as 0-3* for about 5 mins now. I fear an MTO or worse.

So frustrating, looked like it was going to be a real good week for Marcus.

He's having back trouble unfortunately-very frustrating as he was feeling positive. He's going to pull out of the doubles and get some treatment.

Having had back trouble myself for over 30 years, I can recommend a very good physio in London who knocks spots off any other physio I have ever seen. Over the years, I have had everything from physio and osteo, to traction and an epidural. This guy sorted me in 1 session. Happy to provide details if you want.

Especially frustrating after getting his weight down as well, you'd have thought less weight less pressure on back, bloody typical. Get fit soon Marcus.

High drama in France. Corrie broken, Mertl serving for the match BUUUT Corrie saves a match point and then breaks to go into a tie break. Corrie wins the tie break 7-2 and we are into a decider!!!!!

But a break down in the decider. 4-1*

The concern with Ed is that although he has a decent serve he seems to throw in an appalling service games far to regularly. Perhaps that is something to do with not being tested enough at Challenger level
