On a roll at the moment as Finn breaks in the opening game in the 2nd set.
I am really struggling here. Having got to know Josh in Marseille, where he played exceptionally well to reach the FQR, I really want him to do well. However since then, he has struggled to win a match. I know illness was a brief factor but I have no idea how serious that was.
On the flip side, what an achievement it would be if Finn could pull this off and as Paulisi says, become the youngest player with a ranking point. I am going to be both delighted and disappointed, regardless of the result.
When Josh won the 2nd set 6-1 and went 4-1 up in the 3rd, it looked all over. But Finn was having nothing of that and pulled back to 5-4 with Josh serving for the set. Josh had to fight back from 0-40, saving 4 BPs overall in that last game before finally sealing the win.
Really hope Josh can go further now, but what a fantastic effort from Finn Bass. Take a bow son.
Josh won 6-7(6) 6-1 6-4
