Joe has a nice place in the draw, he should get past the young Frenchman and the seed is a Brazilian, who seems to have better results on clay than hard.

Toby's opponent has hardly won a game in 2015. Masur has had a mixed bag of results, nothing special.

Grenier is ranked a lot higher than Surreaux in the domestic rankings and with decent (although not spectacular) results this year

I think Joe will have his work cut out, but it's winnable.

But Surreaux as you say is having a pretty lean time of it, barely anything to write home about. Rankings are misleading and Toby should win that match, I'd say . . .

Joe was a set down and 5-5 in the second last time I saw the score - it seems to have disappeared from live scores

In the singles, Toby lost the first set 3-6. Was 3-1 up in the second but looks like there's been a heavy downpour. Unfortunate if Toby was just getting the upper hand . . .

SO pleased.

Toby broke at 5-5, having been two points from losing. And closed it out, to win 7-5 in the third.

Very nice result.

And the Anglo-French results all going according to plan (unfortunately in some cases but thankfully in others!)

Toby will play his next match, against third seed Masur, later today.
