K is for Kristyna :)

Karolina no doubt has bigger fish to fry. Didn't realise she was anything like WR 14 ( WR 13 last month ).

KaPlis is #4 in the YTD race, been playing beautifully, and if she beats Gavrilova today will possibly (probably) be Top 10 after Miami.

KP is a complete machine, never injured, never misses a week, and now has got herself much fitter, better movement, and she was always able to strike a huge tennis ball.

Naomi has a whole BUCKET of points coming off before Wimbledon. Her ranking is going to take a battering unless she can find some form . . .

Naomi loses the first set 7-5.

She should go deep in Barnstaple, not the best of draws this week/last week - although last week she really should have closed out a great victory.

Ah pity for Naomi again, but she does appear to be in consistently better form again. Stick with it and results should come.

It does mean though that we will enter April with Heather being the only Brit to have won a main draw singles match above 25K level this year.

If I'm proved wrong then fair enough but I don't think she'll ever reach the top 100 - even if she does I don't think she'll stay there very long. I was just looking at her results since Wimbledon last year when she beat Babos, (who can be erratic at the best of times) and which is starting to look like a bit of a fluke. She has not beaten anybody in the top 150 since. She clearly has a decent serve and probably relies on it a lot (bit like Konta I think) but the rest of her game is a bit mediocre.

I agree, and always have done. Never been a fan of her tennis (although I love the girl - she's got 'gumption' !)

But, yes, wouldn't it be great if she proved us sceptics wrong !

I feel sorry for Naomi in many ways.

There is much about her game that one can readily pick apart, but circumstances I feel contrived over time that she seems to have missed out on a lot of decent coaching at really important stages.

I too ave doubts about how high she can get, but I can't but think - what might have been.

But yes, Naomi, show us what can still be.

Two close losses to good players, so I guess that's a positive.

I don't know what happened after Wimby, but up until then her form last year was top125ish, so she wasn't a million miles from that top 100 mark, but that was easily career best form. Ironically that run of form came when she had no coach ( her dad had travelled with her alot but hadn't for nearly a year) when she suddenly found a way to win matches, confidence built up and then she got on a run.

I've always thought she would make a heck of a doubles player given her serve and her massive wingspan at the net.
