Sadly its an all too familiar tale. Tremendous effort, but just falls short.
Shame, for a moment she looked like she might pull a big upset off at 5-4* but not to be.
Absolutely gutted for her. Just cant find a way through these tight three setters against higher ranked girls. Today would have been a big, big win. But it's important to have perspective and she did very well to get to the QF in the first place, and to fight back to get into a position where she had a half-chance of winning.
She's lost all her pre-Wimbledon points of any impact, so the 5 here will be a small step back towards the 200s (probably around 317 on Monday week after dropping to 320ish, would have been about 310 if she had won today).
Would have fancied her chances in the semis but not to be (as an aside, it's nice to see Chanel doing well again, she's too good a player to be ranked where she is). India awaits.
