Very impressive again, going to test all his improved fitness/stamina playing again today but Bedene and Baggy are having a nice long match to help out.

Yes! Great win. Maybe Bedene and Baggy could take it into a third and give Kyle some more rest?

Another superb win for Kyle and there is no reason why he can't go even further here.

Ideal result would be Baggy in 3 as his body would be less likely to stand up to 2 matches in a day. They are into a 2nd set breaker.

With 50 points in the bag already, this is Kyle's 2nd biggest points haul with only his Challenger win in Jan/Feb ahead of it.

Excellent, especially when you consider that Darcis has taken out both Ward and the top seed this week!

And yet it's barely good enough to rise five spots in the rankings (although I have no idea what Kyle is defending this week). Crazy.

I'm guessing my pep talk at the DC is making all the difference ;)

More likely watching Wardy at the DC, and being inspired by his performance there and also the good feel factor plus the knowledge he needs to improve to get into the team maybe having an effect here.

I'm also a firm believer that the emergence of Liam late last year has taken some of the spotlight away and allowed him to blossom without that extra pressure.

He wasn't defending anything over the Indian Wells period!

As the Baggy/Bedene match has now gone over 90 mins the minimum rest required post completion will be 1 1/2 hours. Selfishly hoping the match doesn't go on longer than say another hour tops...

British v Brit-ish it is ... later today

SF: (Q) Kyle Edmund WR 153 v Aljaz Bedene (SLO) WR 115 (CH 71 in 2013)

H2H 1-1, both on clay - Bedene won 3-6 6-3 7-6(1) in Trnava in 2013, Kyle won 3 & 2 in Vercelli last year

It will be Bedene in the SF

Edit

Must remember to press "refresh" before posting. So slow off the mark. disbelief

If Kyle plays well he has a great chance. Bedene is very solid and does all the basics well but Kyle has the weapons to hurt him.

Anyone else tempted to call 'Come on Tim' when seeing Bedene play ?
