That's a good win. Eden is becoming quite consistent these days.

We do need the good crop of youngsters ranked 600-900 to make some moves this year

The teenagers are generally moving forward quite nicely.

I am so very much more encouraged with what is happening outside the top 500 than with the GB men.

Only a matter of time surely before there will be more top 500 GB women than men. At 12-11 to the men, there already would be if not for various injuries. And if quite a number of youngsters really progress, in a few years it might not be too close.

The GB momen are developing such a broader base of prospects that it gives more confidence that from them some will really kick on much further up the rankings.

No idea what has happened but Eden looks like she has defaulted the match.

As said, she and her partner retired from their doubles match yesterday.

So it seems unfortunately that it was Eden who was injured, not Deniz.

Real shame.

Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Defaulted as against given walkover or retired ??

Presuming it is injury related a real pity, especially with a very winnable looking QF. Hope she is back playing very soon.
