RE: Week 10 - ATP Masters 1000 - Indian Wells, CA, USA (JW & doubles)- Hard

Ha, the ATP nicking my 15 of the top 20 ranked singles players in the doubles draw statistic.

I get out a bit of paper and count them all up and the ATP just flagrantly nick my findings. I am prepared though to accept a nominal sum in recompense :)

Dom & Florin are first up on Stadium 4 ( 6 pm GMT ), so hopefuly a pleasant precursor to Andy, second up for his singles on Stadium 1.

Murray/Kokk took out the 4th seeds and Dom's opponents the 5th, leaving no seeds in the quarter. Would be nice for a Murray v Inglot (and partners) doubles QF, although I would obviously have to root for big Dom. Federer and partner also lost.

R2: (WC) Thanasi Kokkinakis (AUS) & Andy Murray CR 710 (287+423) v Marcin Matkowski & Nenad Zimonjic (POL/SRB) CR 31 (27+4)

Edit: People may have seen it but there's an interview with Murray/Kokkinakis here:

Dom & Florin through to the quarters with a 6-3 6-4 win, Dom's points successfully defended.

Hope "Big dog Muzz" makes it through to make a nice all GB match.

Great interview, thanks for the link, looks like Andy having fun which can only be good for his game.

It seems a few of the big singles players are taking out the top doubles pairings...

And vice versa ... Dodig/Melo sent out Isner/Querrey; Inglot and Mergea sent out Robredo and Troicki; the Bryans sent out Anderson and Melzer; Matkowski/Zimonjic sent out Federer and Lammer; Bopanna and Nestor sent out Chardy and Gasquet (though the latter was injured). It doesn't work wholly one way or the other - which is what makes it interesting!

I suspect Muzz and Kokk might not be too upset. They both have singles matches to play today.
