RE: Week 10 - WTA Premier ($5.4M) Indian Wells, USA Hard

Good win for Hev, and avoided a potential loss from a set and 5-3 which would have been a big blow to her confidence. Hev was generally the better player overall and deserved the win.

Very glad Heather came through that especially as Goerges moonball tactics were driving me (and no doubt Heather) crazy; was worried when she didn't close out the second set but came good at the end which is always the main thing. Will need to step it up against Giorgi methinks. Well done and good luck Heather :)

Yes, moonballs were particularly frustrating to watch but I thought that Heather handled them well enough.

I used to loooove playing moonballs, but I didn't realised that they were used at tour level. I thought they would be ineffective as it would give the opponent time to smash, and they're also hard to control off a faster ball.

Yeah Heather did OK against them (but Mrs V was wanting her to step in and dispatch them....think she was wanting to see Location Location on the other side mind!)

I watched the majority of the match. Heather was by far the more solid of the two players.

Her first serve went missing in the first set, but when she moved Goerges around the court she looked a class player.

I'd still like to see a bit more aggression from Heather, especially on the forehand.

I think Heather's been generally moving in the right direction re being more aggresive and sometimes making discoveries if and when she becomes over aggresive for her, such as in her beginning of the year Hopman Cup matches, when I thought sone folk were getting their knickers unnecessarily in a twist over some balls flying to all parts.

More aggression needed, particuarly on the return - I think there's so much potential in that area but sometimes she can't seem to time it quite right.

But as Indy says, she's going in the right direction.

Heather first up on Stadium 4, at 18:00 tomorrow UK time.
BT Sport have IW coverage, but it's unlikely to be Stadium 4 - I think only Stadiums 1, 2 & 3 have TV coverage.

That's a pity; ah well, will have to just look at Heather's youtube hotshot from R1 again and again as compensation :)

TennisTV shows Stadium 4 - won't that be a televised court?
