Absolutely! With Murray in the team anything is possible this year. The doubles should be very competitive with or without Andy and we all know Ward is more than capable of pulling off an upset in a big occasion with the crowd behind him. I think this tie is a 50/50 which is what makes it so exciting.

Look at the France line-up they look well rounded team than us.
The French team is super. But while nothing is ever certain, Mr Murray should be favourite to win his two matches. Yes, the French would be favourites to win against Mr Ward ... but a lot of people have been favourites to win against Mr Ward in big matches! Doubles looks too close to call ...
Must admit that if they were playing anyone other than GB, I'd probably be cheering for the French. They're just such an engaging team - so many different styles, so much fun to watch, and such a sense of coherence. But it is GB they are playing ... so no support this time around.

Agree ( mainly as far as these Davis Cup teams go with regards to the second singles player notwithstanding James Ward's Davis Cup feats ), but still GB can absolutely win at least 3 rubbers out of 5 against France.
Whether they will or not I'd agree is pretty much 50/50 to my mind.

My main regret with this tie is the cost. Was just looking at prices and realising that if a parent wanted to go with a child, the cheapest possible tickets (Cat 3, doubles only) would be £55 for the two of them. The first singles day would be £75 at a minimum ... or for category 2 £145. And the best seats, for which - as I see it, there are no junior prices - would come to £230. Accessible this is not.
Was considering a day at St Andrews for the Open on Saturday, but it's £80 entry plus £24.50 for the golflink return train & bus service from Edinburgh.
Think I'll stay at home and cheer on the doubles guys at Queen's from the comfort of my couch
Juniors are free to I forget what age ( but its well into the teens ) but that's not taking up a reserved seat. Still good to get more young folk in ...
Good to hear that golf allows juniors in free. Hard for sports to break the "elitist" image if young people can't get into their key events because of prices. Does anyone know whether LTA sets aside Davis Cup seats for juniors from programmes in low-income areas?

None of the French players have been top 10 for a while now.
Yes, but they are ranked 11, 12, and 13 so it might be splitting hairs . . .
Still think the brits can do it.
There's a bit of a gap from the top 10 and everyone else (with Rafa somewhat bridging it for the time being) and has been for quite a while. I wouldn't class any of them as 'top 10' calibre right now.
