Assuming they both get wild cards into Queens, Nottingham & Wimbledon then i'd assume if Kyle out performs Ward in these then Leon will find it hard not to pick him. Interesting to note that Ward is down for Manchester & Surbiton but Kyle isn't. I wonder if he'll use it as a training block before an attack on the 3 English tournaments or he'll attempt qualifying at one of the 250 events going on.
Agree a bit soon for KE got to go with Wardy experience so important . KE demonstated that he's the "real deal " but he's still maturing as a player
Yesterday evening played in club team match with matt swampy Illingworth who said that he played Robert twice and the Frenchmen was always beating GB players And so he felt KE win particularly impressive
In my opinion KE will be GB no2 within 2-3 years and overtake Wardy but at the moment the older player has the relevant experience and success in recent Davis cup fixtures . The doubles may be more critical I would got for the 2 bombs "Dom the bomb & wilbomb " .
The doubles rubber could easily decide the 1/4 final fixture !

Ha Ha, me thinks you are on the wind-up re willbomb, Gary, so moving swiftly on, hopefully Dom can prove his fitness and form to add to the realistic doubles options. All fit and well, no reason not to leave it as coming from Andy / Jamie / Dom. The question re the final 4 man team may be one or two doubles specialists, with the commitment to playing Andy on all 3 days that one will involve, but leaving open more options ( including to change things ) for the singles.
Points very much worth considering have been made re both James and Kyle. To me that second singles spot remains up for grabs.
Just to be clear. The Davis Cup Committee has turned down the LTA's appeal over Bedene. They have the right to appeal this decision to the ITF Board of Directors but personally I see very little chance of success.
The appeal made by the German tennis authorities (DTB) over Brown was upheld because Brown did meet the eligibility criteria under the old rules and had it not been for an error by the DTB in not filing a request before the end of last year he would have been granted eligibility. The case of Bedene is clearly different in that he was never eligible under the old rules as he only become a British citizen earlier this year.
If I understood it correctly, you are eligible to play if you'd filed the application for change of nationality before 31/12/14.
And Bedene filed his application with the UK authorities before then.
But he didn't file the relevant forms with the ITF before then.
And so isn't.
Which, if true, is an admin c*ck-up of epic proportions

I think you misunderstood. Aljaz only became eligible when he became a British citizen, it would be absurd if you became eligible just by filing an application because the application might easily be rejected. In the case of Brown he was late filing the form with the ITF, or more accurately the DTB were, but they have let him off because he was actually eligible prior to 1st January 2015. The Davis Cup Committee made clear in their ruling that Aljaz was never eligible under the old rules.
Were I think the problem occurred was that Aljaz had hoped top become a British citizen last year but there was a **** up with the paper work or some kind of delay so it didn't actually happen till this spring.

I could well have misunderstood but from what I read he obviously, as you say, would not have become eligible to play simply once he filed the application (after all, it could have been refused).
But he had to file the application before the 31.12, in order to BE eligible once the application DID get approved. i.e. end-Dec was the filing date deadline for anyone who later in 2015 changed nationality.
I'll try and find where I read it. But it was a while back and, as you say, I might well have got the wrong end of the stick.
