PS: It just occurred to me that not only, in terms of home support v away support, was it possibly a mistake to charge such high prices that you wouldn't get as many vocal home supporters ... but Queens is bang in the middle of an area which might as well be known as little France (Fulham/South Kensington) ... many of whose residents appear to be French people working in quite high-paying jobs with quite a lot of disposable income (at least if the local shops and restaurants are any indicator). Rather loading the dice, no?
A little disappointing overall, although James didn't play too badly and Simon is a class player.
And, yes, Spectator, I thought the French supporters were VERY vocal, you wouldn't have known it was a home tie for the Brits (although they obviously had more to cheer about). But just more raucous and less 'respectful' in general . . .

Yes, with the French Embassy, Institut Français and Lycée Français all in South Ken, the area near Queen's Club probably has the highest concentration of rich French people outside the leafier Paris suburbs and chic-er parts of central Paris!
Still, all the more fun if the tie gets tighter and the Brits get more vocal

Well with this and other reasons, Court One at Wimbles was the ideal choice but with that not available I still feel this was the next best option
Just seen this on the Beeb's site. I repeat my earlier view: . That said, it's probably a marginal improvement on the last one... Doesn't mean I wanted him to lose, though!
There are better locations for home support as a captain I would aways take as many home advantages as possible but that's not really the British tradition in tennis is it ?
Realistically, grass made sense. And the only places that could do it to scale, and with which the GB men were familiar (and where they've all had success) were Wimbledon and Queens. And Wimbledon's a bit worn. So Queens made sense. But it would also have made a lot of sense to pack the place out with GB fans ... especially given that France is one of the away sides most capable Gof mustering quite a crowd in London. Last night, when I went online, there were still GB seats left.
Getting back to the tennis - well done, Mr Murray! Second set taken in a tie-break 12-10.
