Not really sure I'd agree. Think that Tsonga and Gasquet, in particular, can be "top 10" on any given day, even if they don't necessarily do it consistently.
PS: The FFT has posted a video of PHH's debut speech (and song) - poor lad, at one point he graciously says that the French team is delighted to be playing England ... only to realise his error when a good-natured chorus of "Britain!" (followed by much laughter) comes from the GB team table. Seems like a jolly event overall.

For me this tie really is 50/50. We have one of the best players in the world but the French have 3 players capable of that level on occasion.
Doubles looks SO tight regardless of which partnership we play. Whilst obviously winning the tie is the only thing that really matters, it'd be nice to see James upset the odds with a win (I believe there's 65 points on offer for winning a live singles rubber!)
its going to be tough for sure but don't forget the support from the crowd. Andy has said how much it lifts the players.
also Captain Leon's guidance :)
Absolutely. Andy is a world class player anyway but I feel the fans being vocally behind the guys (and in particular James) could make the difference :)
Leon has done an absolutely fantastic job since he came in, really instilling a great group atmosphere
Not looking great so far. James seems to be serving well by and large, but when his level drops at all Simon has the quality to step it up and make him pay
All going a bit pear-shaped, though it's a tribute to Mr Ward that people are disappointed that he's not beating a player of M Simon's calibre. It's a far more difficult task than beating Mr Querrey ... or indeed perhaps (depending on the day) Mr Isner ... and the first two sets look to have been quite decent.
