I see Jeff Stelling is still not an admirer of Dan, having in July 2010 said that he "must be one of the worst players in the top 1,000 at the moment".
Admittedly the then 19yo Dan had been on quite a long bad trot and had dropped to WR 801.
Be very nice if something similar as to what was to happen then happened again now on a higher scale.
In the following two weeks to that July 2010 post Dan was to win futures titles in GB and Ireland, and carrying on in that vein was up in the top 300 less than 9 months later.
Dan must be one of the least likely players to win a Challenger out of the whole top 300 at the moment.
Over to you, Dan.
Could say the same about many other British players in the tournament in Glasgow Dan was the one who liked more likely than the others but having said that a fit Dan Evans is more talented then any of them
I think Marcus Willis has the potential to go much further up the rankings than Dan, ability wise he's a level above. Dan makes the most of his talent, I just don't feel it's enough to take him much further than he's already got. Be more than happy to be proved wrong though.
Apart from obviously wanting to have general success as a pair, Davis Cup is out there as a carrot for Colin and Jonny, a very good regular all British partnership.
But as of now Dom and Jamie are very much in pole position going forward.
Don't know Munoz, but Nedovyesov is quite handy. And, of course, is coming off a Davis Cup high of beating Fognini in the 5th set of the 5th rubber to put his team into the WG QFs. Must have a bit of spare adrenalin flowing.
