Hey, I'm getting a vague hold on this ranking points stuff after all these years :)
That means they'll probable go and change it now . .
Liam on the OoP for tomorrow - 11 a.m. french time. Watch that space . . .
I'm heading up to Glasgow tomorrow for the DC and also to catch up with Liam for a chat, so given he's said he'll be in Glasgow all week, if he does travel here...... I'll just have to assume there's been a change of plan.
It's got to be good for Ed that he's going to play either (a) Rousset, the guy he beat in two sets the qualies, or (b) Kapas, the guy Josh Milton beat in two sets in January in Glasgow.
And for Liam that, in my view, that's now his MD WImbledon card guaranteed (he's got pretty few points coming off too, just the Bournemouth win of any real note, so his ranking will be fine). And that the DC boys get full practice against their swinging leftie.
I'm with steveM, I don't believe it either, more likely lack of sleep or infant-colic-father syndrome. Not that it matters. You've got to put something 'reasonable'. Hope he's OK, whatever.
Darren Walsh (and Arends) currently on ATP livestream.
Just got the break. 4*-3
Can't help but have a certain respect for Darren - quietly ploughing his own 'doubles' farrow - has stepped up from futures to challengers pretty successfully, not part of the old LTA doubles pack, but all on his own (I'm assuming).
He's supposed to be flying out to Canada this weekend, I think - would be nice if it was all a mad rush because he was still in Quimper :)
NB the guy (Teixeira) that Ed lost by a whisker to last week in Cherbourg, in qualies, who then went on to make the QF of the main draw, has also come through qualies this week, and also made the QF (at least), thrashing Arnaboldi
