RE: Week 9 - Challenger (€42,500+H) - Quimper, France (hard)

I am going with the "lefty hitting partner" theory as well. Makes sense to me and Leon likes to leave no stone unturned.

It makes sense cementing his WC and it's always positive to get some hitting time with one of the top players in the world, or even just James.

Liam's still in the draw. No reason why he won't fly down later and play tomorrow. I'm sure the LTA will pay all costs as he is working with DC.

After a long game wityh some powerful hitting by Ed and a couple of errors from V ince,  Ed gets an early break.  Ed leads 3-1

Love service game, big serves and the break is consolidated. 4-1.

Another hold to love and its 5-2 to Ed.  I have to say that Millot is not looking very comfortable.  If Ed can maintain his standard, the match is his in not much more than an hour.

Ed has a couple of set points, but Millot holds on. Millot played a horrid service game, shame Ed couldn't take advantage

Both quite similar players so it's made for some very watchable ball so far.

Ed looking comfortably the better of the pair though.

Error strewn game by Ed and we are back on serve. I didn't see that coming....

Ed was broken while serving for the first set at 5-3, but nevertheless bags it in the very next game, breaking Millot to love:  6-4. smile

That's one of the best racket smashes I've ever seen by the way!!

Dreadful service game by Millot and he concedes his serve to love and with it the set. Smashed his tacket in disgust, and so he should.

6-4.

Easy hold by Ed at the start of the 2nd, despite a really poor drop shot. At 40-0, Millot slaps the return into the roof, he wants to go and sit down. Odd behaviour from a pro, even if he is French....

Vincent wants to go back to the hotel.  2-0, Ed to serve.

As has been said many times before, Millot really doesn't have much to worry people. And his ranking leap last year was only due to a slightly lucky good run at the Ozzie Open.

Great to see Ed looking so composed, and calculatingly aggressive.
