RE: Week 8 - Challenger (€42,500) - Cherbourg, France (hard)

I agree with you Indie, Luke should give challenger qualifying ago but then needs a sustained period of ITF events very much in the way he did with Liam through the states last summer. I hope he is getting the support he requires to do this.

I feel strongly those with the potential to go for it from 18 rather than choosing the safer college route should get a three year developmental contract, with a tapered year 4 and 5 to facilitate a push on into the top 150 and financial independence.

Liam's progression last year suggests the year on year targets should allow a totally focused 22 year old the opportunity to apply it to his or her tennis and breaking the top 150.

Dan had the easiest match here, in my view, and it's all going seriously pear-shaped - 1-4* down in the second set.

Liam has drawn Arnaboldi with the winner likely to play Dustov

R1:  Maxime Authom & Niels Desein (BEL/BEL) CR 801 (417+384) vs (4) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 230 (115+115)

I sincerely hope the boys can build on their decent showing in Marseille last week.
