Having seen her recently, it was very marked how hunched she was when she played. (Hunched across her back and shoulders, both vertically and horizontally). And - even worse - how tense and contracted the muscles were when she hit. The very opposite of the relaxation and fluidity through the ball that you want. I know she's always been tall and slim, and with a slightly unorthodox technique, but I wondered whether it was actually linked to her shoulder i.e. if she was doing it to 'protect' her shoulder? And the shoulder issue is not just a service one? Or if the issue is just a service one but she tenses on other shots unconsciously, with the shoulder issue niggling at the back of her mind? It made you wince, just to watch her.
But smiling at the two simultaneous scores given. We have two camps in how lost to scores are given and it seems they will never meet. All good :)
Wouldn't do for us all to be the same . . .
(In fact, I don't really think about it but I know that I often write 'X is losing 3-5', or even 'X lost the first set 3-6'. But for the final result I always put in the winner's way round because that's how, in France, you have to enter them in the computer or fill out the umpire form, even though on the umpire form (for a team match) the home team player will always be first, regardless of whether he/she won or lost).
