RE: Week 8 - ITF ($25K) - Aurangabad, India - outdoor clay

Think some posts maybe got lost in the merge there?

Anyway, Em loses 76(5) 61 crydohcry

I really thought she had a good draw this week as her quarter didn't look insurmountable (I really fancy Harriet to beat the 4th seed) and there is nothing on Lee's recent record to suggest she was an underranked threat, but things just didn't work out on the day which is a great shame for her as I know she had this win in her. Was a carbon copy of last week, 2-5* down saves 4 set points to get to a breaker only to lose it. But unlike last week she led 4-1* and then *5-3 in the breaker (although serving wasn't exactly an advantage!), so definitely a big blow to have come within touching distance of completing a fabulous comeback and stealing a set she was down and out of, only to let it slip away at the very end after doing all the hard work.

0/6 on sets which get to 5-5 though this early in the year - getting a bit tight perhaps? Maybe time to try to get a run of wins in a few 10ks and get some momentum going?

Bloomin' clay disbelief

Naomi had break points at 4-4* in both the second and third sets. Not been loving the Indian summer, but sure she'll get back on track very soon smile

Wasn't expecting those two match-ups to be losses :(
Fingers crossed for better outcomes tomorrow...

That pair reached the final last week so not a massive surprise to be honest.

Tomorrow is another day.

Katy Dunne (GBR) d. (Q)Sri Vaishnavi Peddi Reddy (IND) 64 63
Harriet Dart (GBR) d. (4)Varatchaya Wongteanchai (THA) 75 64

Much better! I was very confident Harriet would win and she should make the quarters.

That was a great tie-break to win, from Harriet. well done. And then to get the third set too.

there's no seed left in her quarter - she now gets Marie Benoit, the Belgian who Katy had real trouble beating last week, and is progressing nicely. As is Harriet, of course !

Pity Katy couldn't get the better of Emily's nemesis, Sawayanagi, but at least Harriet took GB revenge on Emily's conquerer from R1 here,

Keep it going, Harriet !

Looks like Harriet has a decent chance of making the SF, and good job to her making the QF in the first place.
