Thanks for all the information on Dan's biggest rivals Greenleaf.

I agree, Elias in undoubtedly number one but I rate Eysseric and the guy from Taiwan as no 2 and 3. I rate them ahead of Chase Buchanan as getting wins on the men's circuit is a lot, lot harder than doing well in the juniors. For Yang to have 4 points already at just 15, is extremely impressive. I rate Dan as no 4, ahead of Buchanan and Rhyse Williams and the guy from Georgia.

This is my calculated Top 10 "born 1990+" players.
This is based just on the Men's Tour, so it won't include players like Kukhalashvili who have yet to play a Futures tournament.
It's a pretty similar list to Greenleaf's though, apart from the inclusion of Camilo at no. 2 who reached the final of Brazil F15 a couple of weeks ago at the age of 16.

Thanks for that list akhenaten, makes interesting reading. It's impressive that Dan has a better senior record than Elias, if Dan was Portuguese he'd probably have already made his ATP tour debut !

Has Daniel played any of these guys before ? I still rate him higher than Chase Buchanan, if Michael Thompson can take a set 6-2 off him than Dan should have a good chance of winning.

I didn't realise Rhyne Williams had already done so well on the senior tour at just 15, has he made any futures finals so far ?

I didn't include Camilo because I was considering just people younger than 16 years and 6 months.
Kukhalashvili and Inzerillo are underranked because they are injured.
Interestingly, both Eysseric and Inze were in the French side that was thumped by Cox, Evans and Barnes in 2004 and that too on clay.

Elias now has a better men's record that Dan, he reached the semis of a Futures last week.

Rhyne doesn't have a men's main draw win.

No idea.

One thing that makes Dan really special is the fact that he has qualified for Futures in three different countries!

Dan hasn't played any of these guys in Men's or 18 and U circuits. Head to head records aren't available for the levels lower than that, so all I can do is give instances from different tournaments that I have collected. I am sure that he has played these guys a few more times at least.

Gastao Elias -

They have played twice. Gastao thrashed him 3 and 0 on American hardcourts in 2004. Dan thrashed him 2 and 1 in Europe.

They are even.

Inzerillo -

Dan won against him in Tarbes and Prostejov. Inze won against him in the European 14&U championships.

Berankis -

Dan lost to him twice, including the quarters of the 14 &U Orange Bowl.

These are just the meetings I know of. I am searching continuously, but it's really difficult to dig out draws from three years back.

I think that Dan and Gastao could become great rivals in a few years time. They both are comfortable on all surfaces as far as know.

They actually have a doubles title together! So you never know, they could even be friends.

My list takes into account all qualifying matches too, and the quality of opposition.

Rhyne Williams has a 17-8 win-loss record, opposed to Gastao Elias 6-7.
Rhyne has had easier opponents in the US than Gastao in Portugal/Spain, but Gastao has lost to worse players than Rhyne has.

Jonathan Eysseric is 3rd in my list and has only a 6-18 record, but the quality of players he's had to play in France (partly due to lots more WCs into the main draws), puts him very high rated.

I'm not saying my list is more correct than Greenleaf's (it's probably not), it's just a statistical exercise.

Thats really weird. Do you think he's injured? Is there any other logical explanation for pulling out of such good tournaments?

The only thing I can think is that he's decided to concentrate on seniors only.

Hope he's not injured or if he is that it's only minor.
