Part one of, hopefully, two this weekend complete for Mandy - one top seed disposed of, one title claimed!
F: Carreras/Savoretti (GBR/ITA) defeated Bara/Bukta (ROU/HUN) [1] 6-4 6-1
Btw, I find it quite funny how often, if I tweet about a doubles title with both the GB and the non-GB partner's @ tags, the non-GB player retweets it but the Brit doesn't (I don't find it at all surprising that the Brit doesn't RT it, I hasten to add, just funny that they don't and the non-Brit does) - a frequent example is John Peers and the reason I'm mentioning it on this thread is that it happened again today with Alice. It doesn't even matter if the tweet is very much centred around the Brit, e.g. today's went: "Palmanova 10K: Congrats @amanda_carreras on her 8th ITF Pro doubles title - Amanda & @alisavo ITA beat top seeds Bara ROU/Bukta HUN 4&1 "
It may suggest that Brits who aren't top 100 singles players get more support than non-Brits at that level do (if so, we and others like us are doing a good job!), so it's more of a novelty to the non-Brits at that level to have their achievements noticed. Either that or they just think that getting some apparent support from someone who isn't even from the same country is worth RTing just because it's so weird LOL ... or they're trying to say "hey look, the Brits notice this, why can't you Italians?" (or Aussies, or whatever)

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Mandy took the first set 6-4, making fewer errors and hitting lots more winners. Serve looks a bit weak and the high bounce causing Mandy a few issues, but forehand and court coverage excellent.
