Agree with everyone else. That's an excellent win for Neil.

Thanks everyone - was a great match. Neil played as well as I have seen for a while. Hoping it might give his confidence a boost and kick start his season! I'm obviously needed here more often haha! Wind is much slower today which has helped the tennis. Doubles in about an hour.

As BeefyD said, it really is good, sherbert, to get your inside view - it's very much appreciated! All the best for the doubles, and the rest of the singles :)

Anyone know as to what is happening on the doubles - it was on my screen as a starter highlighted with Brits about to start, but suddenly disappeared?

Just won the doubles 7-6 7-5. Pulled it back from 4-1 down in both sets. So good day all round. Day off matches tomorrow - so plenty of practise and maybe a walk to the beach. Glad you enjoy the insight - think it's amazing how much interest you all show. Fingers now crossed for Thursday.

There were issues with technology - that might be why it disappeared...

Great win against the fourth seeds :)

And, yes, you might be right, sherbert - we might need to get a life . . . :::)))

Well done to all of you. Enjoy tomorrow !

Sounds like a good performance by the boys in the first round of the doubles:

R1:  Scott Clayton & Neil Pauffley CR 1375 (425+950) defeated (4) Riccardo Bonadio & Riccardo Sinicropi (ITA/ITA) CR 1079 (552+527) by 7-6(?) 7-5

and it earns Neil another pop at Peliwo! wink

QF:  Scott Clayton & Neil Pauffley CR 1375 (425+950) vs Pietro Licciardi & Filip Peliwo (ITA/CAN) CR 1254 (654+600)

No joy for Scott in his singles match although he was a break up in the first set.

Neil's score disappeared in the very first game

Neil lost 6-2 6-3. Feeling disappointed after Tuesday. There were a few things - main one being that he didn't play as well as Tuesday. He isn't a fan of having a day off. Bad calls by the umpire on big points (the umpires are pretty horrendous out here) and the other guy played well. Doubles again later. Be good to have a strong week in that. Off out in the sun now :)

Just heard that Neil beat Peliwo, brilliant news, hope he gains a lot of confidence from that win and takes it to the next tournament. Good luck in the doubles Neil!
