So if Colin and Jonny win the FQR, what's the chances of - "Hey Bro, fancy dropping out and letting the real doubles players play?"

To which Andy can reply "I think there is evidence that I can really play doubles" :)

Not a bad idea if there is a fair chance that he will be playing doubles vs the USA, who I believe have a half decent pair.

And with the best will in the world I can't see Wardy beating Isner so chances are we will be 1-1 after the first day so will have to go all out for the doubles.

Yes, I'd been thinking that having two doubles specialists available ( Colin and Dom ) worked out pretty well last year when we found ourselves 2-0 up. We were at least able to give the Bryans a decent game and rest Andy for the second singles.

But it won't be the same if 1-1 and I think our best doubles pair has Andy in it.

I think our best 4 doubles pairings all involved Andy.

My assumption is that the 5 man squad will be Andy, James, Kyle, Dom and either Jamie or Colin.

What a thought, James's attitude continues to impress me. All over the above reasons which ever is correct if any suggest he knows his business and is skilled at managing it.

The more you reflect on it, the more obvious that OG was not cut out to be an ATP tour player, regardless of the way he has or hasn't been nurtured, you have to love playing and everything about it, even the adversity, to be a success. I really feel he has made the correct decision, as has Naomi Cavady to give it another crack. I feel she now really understands where dues been and why, where she wants to go next and how.

Whoops don't know how that happened thought I was commenting on James preferring to watch Arsenal v Spurs then play in qualifying but make of it what you will

Ah, I imagine that you just got caught out by the Spurs vs Arsenal quip being on the bottom of the first page ( well it is on my setup ) when actually two more pages followed.

Happens ...

Spurs-arsenal comment was somewhat tongue in cheek! Tho if that was the reason james would have been sorely disappointed....!

Anyway if he has picked up a niggle I hope it's nothing at all bad.

Colin and Jonny take the match with a 10-6 MTB win.

Col & Jonny keep the Indian sign on Jamie & John:

FQR:  (q2/ALT) Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray CR 138 (79+59) defeated (q1/ALT) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 73 (36+37) by 7-6(3) 2-6 [10-6]

Colin being toughened up! wink

Ergo

R1: Dom Inglot & Florin Mergea (ROU) CR 72 (48+24) vs (Q) Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray CR 138 (79+59)

This is becoming more and more like a Davis Cup spot playoff by the day.
