RE: Week 5 - ITF ($25K) - Glasgow, UK, Hard

We know Freya is clearing capable of stepping up and elected not to attempt Aus Open juniors so I suspect will be focussing on senior events.

Her 14pts will now get her direct entry into most 10K's, so the points were crucial. Otherwise it's a long way to go to have to qualify.

I take your point, P, but unless her funding depends on it, I still don't think the points themselves are crucial. Not at her age and her stage in development. As said, not knocking them of course, but I expect (like most best youngsters) that she is not planning her schedule around where to get the easiest points. If you get the game, the rest will follow. If you just manage to get the ranking, without the game, nothing will happen.

Very pleased, as you say, though that she seems to be properly moving up to adult tennis in her strategy and ditching juniors.

Don't make Katy angry by taking the 1st set - that's a really excellent win
