R1: (4) Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray CR 132 (73+59) defeated Frank Moser & Divij Sharan (GER/IND) CR 202 (83+119) by 1 & 3 (= because Colin made it a winning return & it's good to see Jonny sharing in it with him)
Good to see a very strong All GB pair that could benefit Davis cup

But they did lose in round 2.
Dom Inglot, on the other hand, is in the final.
And as many people say Andy would be first choice for the doubles, maybe him and Dom ? (I don't set much store by established partnerships - see so many exceptions, although maybe the exceptions stand out and I don't notice the main ones day in, day out).

I don't think Inglot played that well when he played with Fleming in the previous Davis Cup tie. For me the team will be Andy Murray and Colin Fleming
Agreed. I actually think Fleming is a much better player than Dom, just circumstances with partners etc. Has resulted in his lower ranking and comparatively lower success rate at the top level.
Re Davis Cup, whilst the merits of Colin and Dom can be debated, I would be worried by Colin's lack of competitive action to far this year. The birth of his daughter has put him a few weeks behind in his preparation which may be a factor. I know there are still 3 weeks to go before DC but I feel Colin need a good run in one of these weeks to get back into the swing of things.
Personally, on form and on the fact he has paired with Andy many times before, I would be very tempted to go for Jamie.
Bah, wrong end this time of another quite close match !
The next few weeks do look very important, particularly with Colin, to try and establish some order in the doubles guys, and with varied partners, while good to see any positive results, there will be rather more to it than that.
