Didn't see the first set but saw every ball of the second - a good set of tennis, from both guys (way better than the Dan v Dan match).
Well done, Marcus, 6-3 - good play. Keep it up.
He's a lot quicker round the court, doesn't have to resort to defensive play so early in the point because he's slightly out of position in the way he often used to.
really good off-season work.
add: and, yes, me too, freerider -that's my favourite serve too - makes the guy look an idiot because it just keeps going away form him as he lunges ever further

Which he does to love. Good week on the whole for Willis - definitely showing that he is competitive at this level. More experience and he will start winning matches like this. Credit to Authom he played a solid match
Marcus' serve level dropped a bit which left him a little vulnerable. He did, actually, look a little tired (didn't quite move his feet for his FH or the return of serves that came straight onto him). But it may have been mental tiredness/experience too.
Overall, though, against a guy who's been in excellent form in the last 6 months, I thought marcus played well, really promising for a good year.
I dipped in and out of this match, didn't manage to see any of the 2nd set though. His fh was not upto the standard of last year when he was playing in the US - he missed too any of them. Not a bad performance all the same.....
Shame, but often hard to feel consistently comfortable / relaxed when first stepping up a level. However, doesn't sound like it will be long before he gets established in challengers.
