Looking good for Cox and Rice in the MTB and Dan S who serves for the set.

Wow what a tweener from Arnaboldi - at 2-0 15-15 second set if you missed it. Polite applause from the crowd.

That's one of Marcus's best-ever wins - and what a scoreline

L32: (Q) Marcus Willis WR 357 beat (8) Matteo Viola (ITA) WR 185 (CH 118 in 2013) by 2 & 2

L16: (Q) Marcus Willis WR 357 v Maxime Authom (BEL) WR 192 (CH 143 in 2013)

H2H 0-1 - Authom won 4 & 2 on clay in Jupille-sur-Meuse back in 2009

Nice work by Messrs Willis, Rice and Cox. And hoping for the best for Mr Smethurst, after his good first set.

SUCH an impressive fight from Dan in that second set - a break down often, hard going, but played SO well to stay in and perturb the Italian - Brilliant !

Excellent performance from Dan. That forehand has a lot of pop on it and his backhand is definitely improving.

Well played to all so far today. I can't see a win for Ewan but apart from that it's a full house!

really nice win for Dan - really dug in when behind in the 2nd set - break points saved and turning round games when his opponent was ahead.

particularly good to see as Dan has seemingly struggled whenever coming up against top 200/250 opponents over the last couple of years. Seems his game has come on a bit, and is now (hopefully) injury free.
