That incident was weird. Yes he shouldn't have thrown the racket so close to the linesperson but that was a worse dive than your premier league footballer. All the momentum was gone by the time the racket hit her. The laws of physics just didn't justify that response from her

Good start from Cam

Good luck to Liam. Tough opener

Although I agree there were some amateur dramatics as well, I don't think it was the racket hitting her that knocked her over but the noise of the racket hitting the tarpaulin right close to her, which was like a bullet shot, which startled her (reasonably enough) and she stumbled and then lost her footing and fell (after the racket had bounced off and lightly touched her). It seemed genuine to me (the startle and the fall, not sure about all the hoo-hah after).

I read somewhere that Kudla had mono. If that's true, Liam will presumably play a LL.

Edit - scrap that. I checked again and the report was from the middle of last year.

Norrie lost the first set 3-6. Hopefully he can turn this around.

Good response as Norrie takes the second set 6-0 and equals the third at 1-1*.

Great fight from Cam too - was nip and tuck that set. And Norrie wins it, 6-4 in the third :)

Yes, great fight indeed! I'm not really sure about Norrie's level considering he's been at college, but it should be fun to have a shot at the FQR considering it's a local tournament.

I was wondering when Darren would resurface this year:

R1:  (4) Jason Jung & Evan King (USA/USA) CR 609 (426+203) vs Liam Broady & Dennis Novikov (USA) CR 662 (292+370)
R1:  (WC) Greg Ouellette & Connor Smith (USA/USA) CR 1370 (1004+366) vs (2) Ruben Gonzales (PHI) & Darren Walsh CR 468 (231+237)

Where did Darren resurface and why is poor Ruben Gonzales having to play without a partner?

He actually played the Maui Challenger last week, also with Gonzales but lost in the first round. Don't think anyone made a thread though.

I was thinking the same. King was an idiot and it was incredibly childish, but the line judge makes a right meal of it for no real reason. Still, you think King would be at least a little apologetic and he could hardly complain for getting defaulted.
