Week 5 - Challenger ($100,000) - Dallas TX, USA - Hard

Liam should be in the main draw here, while Cameron makes a late attempt to avoid falling out of the top 25 table when his Q + L16 points from the West Lakes Challenger come off on Monday week (the real reason he's playing is because he's at college nearby!)

QR1: Cameron Norrie WR 673 v (q7) Thales Turini (BRA) WR 448 (CH 283 last Jul)

One down, well done Cam. He should definitely be getting to the FQR but I don't know much about the second seed and a potential opponent in Darian King.

The last time King played a British player, he got defaulted after throwing a racquet at a line judge (video here http://youtu.be/PZAeEiXozSQ).

Funny, I actually remember seeing that live but must have completely disassociated it with the guy. Cheers for the reminder!

Those good college guys, just don't trust their rankings.

Nice that it's our college guy :)

Not the best draw..however I watched Liam beat Kudla fairly convincingly in Charlottesville a couple of months ago, so I know he has the game to do get past him. If he can find that level again I'm confident he'll come through.

I wouldn't read too much into that. Kudla missed a couple of months last Summer due to illness and struggled through the Autumn when he did come back. If he is back to full health he could be a different prospect.

That incident was weird. Yes he shouldn't have thrown the racket so close to the linesperson but that was a worse dive than your premier league footballer. All the momentum was gone by the time the racket hit her. The laws of physics just didn't justify that response from her

Good start from Cam

Good luck to Liam. Tough opener

I think it's patently obvious how limited Darian King is from the fact Dan Cox tore him a new a***hole last year
