Saw most of the match - Kyle didn't need to get out of second gear and serve very well until he had to serve for the match. I was quite impressed with his opponent, had a nice game.
I am with Vohor on this one. I had a bad vibe about today with the "after-the-Lord-Mayors-Show" threat, particularly with the travelling between Hong Kong and Australia. So I am pleased/relieved that Kyle was able to get the win today. He continues to impress.
That was a good, comfortable win for Kyle but yes, it's good to avoid those types of effects after winning a title. I'm repeating myself but Kyle continues to impress with his maturity and hopefully he can keep some consistency this year and really make a push.
L32: Kyle Edmund WR 148 beat (WC) Harry Bourchier (AUS) WR 859 (CH 810 in Dec; 19yo junior CH 24 in 2013) by 3 & 5
L32: Brydan Klein WR 251 beat (Q) Andrew Whittington (AUS) WR 496 (CH 368 in 2014) by 2 & 1
L16: Kyle Edmund WR 148 v Maverick Banes (AUS) WR 351 (CH 345 in Dec)
L16: Brydan Klein WR 251 v (LL) Matthew Barton (AUS) WR 609 (CH 201 in 2013) *
* H2H 1-1 both in Aus Futures - Brydan won 6-4 4-6 7-5 on hard in Esperance in 2011 but Barton won 3-6 6-1 7-6(4) on clay in Ipswich in 2012. Barton's has dropped a lot recently because he made the QFs both here (going out 15-12 in a final set tiebreak!) and in West Lakes (beating Cam in R2) last year.
Both are 4th after 23.00 GMT tonight, so are unlikely to start before about 03.30 GMT. Kyle's match says not before 02.00 GMT, but getting on at that time would mean the previous three matches averaging only an hour each.

Half following Kyle on livescore. He flew out the blocks to lead 5-0 but since its been more even. He has just been broken serving for the match at 6-1 5-4. In fact, serving has become more and more of a problem for both players so either the standard of returning is great, or conditions may be a bit windy???
