I doubt she's home and dry but, in a really tight set, Mirabelle comes out on top, 7-5, against the top seed !
Whatever happens, it looks like her game has stepped up to the adult level, a 'déclic' as the French would say, and the learning tournaments last year really served their purpose.
It's her birthday tomorrow, she turns 18 (still a junior technically) - would be nice to beat the top 500 (ex top 220 player) to be still on course for her birthday. :)
L32: (Q) Mirabelle Njoze UNR beat (1) Anna-Giulia Remondina (ITA) WR 408 (CH 219 in 2011) by 7-5 7-6(4)
L16: (Q) Mirabelle Njoze UNR v (Q) Deborah Chiesa (ITA) WR 713 (= CH; 18yo junior CH 82 in 2013)
Edit: Peter beat me to it by a minute or so but I'm going to leave this in because it's got Remondina's up to date ranking, which is more important than usual given that we are talking about a career high scalp
