Marcus: "Injury free just completely choked, playing a tough indoor player and struggled to finish it off. #practice"

What about his weight? Or doesn't that count? Imo he needs to do a Mardy Fish, at the very least.

Apparently Marcus has lost a lot of weight over the last few weeks.

Let's hope so. His example rather makes the point that approaching the upper echelon of ATP world rankings is not particularly difficult.

Yeah sure. Not particularly difficult if you have the talent that Marcus does.

A pity for Marcus, but I have high hopes for Joe as well so not too disappointed.

Joe, on an indoor hard court, will be a very tricky player. And he's still got 5 months to get to his 'correct' ranking. So no shame in that loss . . .

Looks like Josh M beat Lewis 6-3 6-2

and Rob lost out 6-3 7-5 to Wunner.

Bambo took an impressive 1st set 6-3, Coxy looked set for victory over Neil just before I left, and Rob C should have taken it into a decider in his match, he saw a floated passing shot which he may have been able to put away, sail agonisingly over his head and just in when he had break points at 4-3 in the second.

Mr Salisbury is underranked; agree with Coup Droit. Lovely to have the updates; hope that we'll be getting later today some of the wonderful full accounts for which posters are known.

I agree Jo is no slouch, likes to get to the net, and very dangerous on an indoor court. Marcus was quite upbeat afterwards, feels he's striking the ball very well, just putting in the odd killer game, due to lack of match practice.

The results are on the ITF site now. A few surprises.
