RE: Week 3 & 4 - Australian Open - men's doubles

The Bryans dropped the first set to Berlocq and Mayer, but seem to have been relatively untroubled thereafter.

R3: (16) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 77 (38+39) vs (1) Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan (USA/USA) CR 2 (1+1)

Seems to be a lot of confusion as to the R3 opponents. So just for the record

R3: (16) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 77 (38+39) vs (4) Ivan Dodig & Marcelo Melo (CRO/BRA) CR 19 (12+7)

R3: (14) Dom Inglot & Florin Mergea (ROU) CR 72 (48+24) vs (1) Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan (USA/USA) CR 2 (1+1)

Just a tad :) WOOPS !!

I could say that SC started it, but in truth I looked so much at that draw how I contrived too to mix the Brits up is rather remarkable.

I have become less confident of Dom getting to the QF again although I now think more of Jamie's chances.

I wouldn't say a lot, Bob, but perhaps a little!  At least I got my third-round match-up right! wink

Best of luck to both pairs... feel these are the matches they need to be winning if they are to make inroads into the top 20, Grand Slams are where the real big points are!

Wow, I knew Dom had won, but hadn't clicked that it was against the Bryans. Sooo rapt for him.

Jamie and John had their chances. Melo was playing so of course ESPN Brasil covered the match. After winning a tight 1st set, Jamie and John had 4 BPs in the opening game of set 2 but failed to convert. Then at deuce in the 2nd game Peers missed a sitter of a volley and they found themselves 2-0 down when they should have been 2-0 up.

Woke up to see Dom's result which has really cheered me up. Great stuff.
