RE: Week 3 & 4 - Australian Open - men's doubles

I'm not sure how but Jamie and John managed to lose the second set 7-6(4).

They made hard work of it but Jamie and John wrap up the win 6-4 in the third.

The first 20 points of Jonny's match have all gone with the serve.

EDIT: Make that the first 28 points.

EDIT 2: The run ended at 29 points.

First set down the pan 6-4 thanks to Stakhovsky forgetting how to volley in game 10 furious

Oh dear. They led *4-3 in the second set only for Jonny to play a stinker of a service game. They then led 5-2* in the tie break but lost 8-6 with Stakhovsky again producing some poor volleys when it mattered the most.

To make things worse their draw had opened up with the defeat of Granollers and Lopez.

John and JP are former doubles partners winning 5 challenger titles together in 2012. In fact one of the reasons I think John clicked immediately with Jamie was Jamie is actually a very similar player to JP.

Jamie and Dom are both due to start at midnight. Jamie is on Eurosport Player which is good as I can watch that on my tablet and Dom on my computer. smile

Messrs Murray and Peers not wasting time in the 1st set - 6-2.

Does anyone else feel on the verge of forgiving Jamie Murray for his ludicrous chat about a Wimbledon singles WC yet? I'm genuinely starting to feel that one year hence I may not despise him any more.

Before I get jumped on for the above, let me make myself clear. I in no way condone his shameful behaviour that year. Just healthy to move on sometimes, that's all.

Dom & Florin having more of a battle, going a break down in the first set, but eventually taking it by 7-6(6).  *1-2 in the second...
