Tough openers for Naomi and Em. I'll be surprised if any girls make it out of qualies this week. These events are ridiculously strong

LOL

Very tough draws indeed. Not 100% sure why they are playing these events. Naomi C i totally get as she's explained. Don't see them getting much reward

Mind you, we all said the same about Kedders playing the men's versions of these tournaments last year in terms of points reward and yet he credits them with having set his year up.

I suspect the training group are using it to break up training sessions.

EWS - no idea why she is bothering on clay, other than it is EWS and she likes to travel and do things she hasn't done for a while I.e play clay
Naomi is playing 25ks to see if she can make it at the next level.

Both Naomi and Em were much closer than I expected, such a shame for Naomi to be so, so close. Still an encouraging sign though, Gallovits is of course significantly under ranked.

Well done Katy.

Going to be a lean tour this one.

I remain pretty unconvinced about Katy in particular playing competitive ITF matches ( whether with this strange training block semi focus or not ) when she was still playing ( very pleasingly ) a full week of matches up to and past Christmas in India.

But hey ho ...

Very impressive from Ms Dunne. Hope the others get some better draws next time - those ones were really wretched.
