Glasgow $25k

I might be in Glasgow when this event is on

Could someone please give me some info about the event. Such as ticketing, pricing, seats. Any other relevent info would be great, and maybe something about the atmosphere, etc.

Also, any idea which players will be there yet?

thanks very much

2-8th Feb, joint event with Mens Challenger

Most events of this nature are free and there should be plenty of viewing areas

Provisional entries are released on Thursday

Name of club:SCOTSTOUN LEISURE CENTRE
Address:72 Danes Drive, Jordanhill, GLASGOW, G14 9HD, Great Britain

Women's qualifying starts on 2nd Feb, main draw 4th Feb, Final 8th Feb

Atmosphere should be good with a joint event and plenty of Brits around

I think it just means that the original 10k tournament has been upgraded to a challenger and of course challenger tournaments are not on that list.

Tara should be there. There is a good chance Naomi B will also enter and the girls over in the US may come back for this competition.

Other than wildcards, I cannot see any of our other girls making the main draw.

The acceptance list doesn't seem to be out yet but should be out within the next week.

Quite a few entrants will be in their respective Fed Cup squads, or may head to Grenoble or Midland instead, but it should still be a decent enough entry list to make a couple of days worthwhile, especially now the men's event has been upgraded to a challenger and should be of a good standard.

Mayr, Vogt, Bonaventure, Ozgen and Savchuk are all in their respective Fed Cup teams so should withdraw.

Not sure if anyone is selected from the top two groups.( possibly Linette, Kania, Kolar, Oprandi)

I'd expect four from Tara, Katy, Katie, Harriet and Cav to get wildcards and quite a few girls getting QWC's dependant on how well they do at Sunderland.

Vogt will be in Budapest too.

I suspect one or two from the likes of Poland, Switzerland and the Netherlands will be called up to their squads.
