Goes up 40-0 for triple set point, fluffs a volley behind a great serve, weak second serve munched, unforced error - deuce. Nice winner from Casey (although Heather was very passive) to get a break point but she hits a forehand long. Watson hesitates about making a challenge, and is out of position as Casey stings a winner down the line but saves the second break point very well. Ridiculously good pass sets up break point #3, saved. Dead net cord for break point #4, Casey nets the return. Stunning point finishing with a winner into space gives Heather set point #4, taken with a great serve down the middle followed by a winner into the space.
First set 6-3.
Ok, so basically Heather is able to assert herself in this match and put pressure on Casey, as opposed to being the person who is being routed. As a result, she isn't making as many errors because she isn't being rushed/pressured/flustered.
So I think, at this early stage, the problem was just that Cornet and Radwanska are far too good for Heather to compete with for any real period, whereas Casey is in about the same range as her so she is more comfortable and able to play her game without feeling like she has to go for massive winners off every ball (which we know she is not capable of doing).
Casey racking up the errors now, a big wobble from 40-0 to deuce, but she finally holds after five deuces (no match points) to put the pressure all back on Heather
*5-4

Heather gets very tight at 30-0, a very tentative point at 30-30 from both ends in a huge Watson winner (just!) for match point, only to put down a terrible double fault (!!). Big hitting from Casey to get a break point, but she misses a sitter of a volley and it's back to deuce. A wild second serve return miles wide gives Heather a second match point (and the racket gets some punishment), Heather takes something off the first serve and Casey drags a forehand wide. The challenge confirms it and we have a win!

Nicely done, but got tight at the business end. Generally, I think this confirms that Heather is still a limited threat to the top 20/25, but outside of that everyone is within her capabilities if she is playing well.
Gosh Marinko really is unlikeable isn't he? Almost no support for the Ozzies in this mixed match. I feel sorry for Casey, she's just rolling her eyes and trying to get on with things. He's playing terribly.
