RE: Week 1 - Challenger ($50,000) - Happy Valley, Aus (Hard)

Emmas, unfortunately they aren't streaming from Happy Valley this week.

In future, if you go to the www.livestream.com website and search ATP, most challengers will have streaming from two courts - the US ones have a commentator too!

Don't know why it isn't on the usual ATP Challenger livestream but there is streaming from two courts here. Liam wasn't on a streamed court for R1 but I think he is today. It is available here;

and at Youtennis

It's at times like this I wish I was back out in Brazil which is 3 hours behind the UK.

Broady an early break down in the first 2-3*

Decent quality live stream for a challenger.

First set lost 6-2. He won 50% of his first serves, and was 0/2 for bps, compared to 2/5 for Authom.

I had it on in the background, but it looked to me that he played alright - Authom is obviously on a good run at the tailend of last year (as is Liam).

But Authom holds on to win 6-2 6-4

Slightly disappointing result, but onwards and upwards going into Melbourne.

Shame, but I feel this is a new phase in his development ie preparing for GS (Aussie) qualifying as opposed to trying to win on the futures tour per se. That I think comes in February and March with another real crack after the US Open through to the year end
