Tables updated - Sheffield is very weak(WR1173 will make main draw) and lots of new names to me in qualifying. We should have a winner with 7 GB players ranked in the top 8

You've done a great job with those names, paulisi !

I'm an instant fan of Donovan Cellupica Towers :)

Now, THAT'S a name you won't get confused with anyone else's . . . .

Looking at the women listed for the US 25K, I wonder if it an LTA funded/led trip.  If so, good to see EWS and Naomi C included along with the youngsters.

You're not called The Optimist for nothing . . . . smile

Frankly, I think there's no chance that EWS and Cav are being funded/paid for . . . cry

I live in hope..............seriously!! I'm sure you're right about EWS and Naomi C,  but I do hope that if the youngsters are part of a funded trip that the extra 2 are at least treated as part of the British family by the coaches.

Anyone suggestions for the wildcards for Sheffield? Dan Evans? otherwise Ashley, Jhun and a couple of the better juniors.

Not sure about Dan.  I am wondering whether he is playing a tactical game at the moment.  (Also not sure how fit he is but that is another matter)  He is currently 316 in the rankings, but at the start of Feb, he has another 96 points to come off from his exploits in Zagreb last year and that would push him down to almost 600.  This would leave him playing futures and on occasions, maybe even having to qualify.

However, if he waits another 6-8 weeks or so, (I think) he will be eligible for a Protected Ranking and therefore would be able to get directly into many challengers without relying on WCs.  A few futures wins would do him the world of good, given that he hasn't played for a while, but we know that Evo needs the motivation of the higher ranked tournaments. I may be wrong, but don't be surprised if he doesn't play until that PR eligibility kicks in.

According to a user on Twitter, Dan is down for the Sheffield $10k. The user in question is ian_cobdenAFC.
