Wow, very good. And 30 points now ( 50 if she was to win the title ) is her most points from a tournament ever.

I'd noticed that Shapatava had taken 3 sets to beat each of two qualifiers and a WC but that's still a really good scoreline.

With all the talk of funding cuts lets hope Katy is getting maximum support. Reading she is out there with her mum makes me wonder why she has no personal coach. How much better could she get?

Think she was at the NTC a little while but that it didn't suit her and so she deliberately moved away from their support.  Now trains at Northwood but I don't think their coaches travel very often with players, but she does seem to try and co-ordinate her schedule with Katie Boulter so that she can travel with her and her coach Jeremy Bates.  Quite a lot of players who have trained outside of the NTC travel with family members and just see their coaches whilst in the UK.
