Alex and Josh both definitely playing USA Futures (the 15k's) for 2 weeks before heading back to the UK to play there. Alex has told me today that is he is fighting fit and that at the moment, his forearm and ankle are both feeling strong. Josh is also in a very positive frame of mind.

Great to hear about Alex, really hope he can have an injury free year and really push on.

Have you got any other scoops on potential schedules for the new year?

I am working on it.

Edit - How to feel like a plonker in one easy lesson

OK. So I am on the prowl for another scoop and I head down to La Manga today, getting there just after 10.30am.  Nobody was on court so I headed for reception. They told me that the UK tennis group had block booked the "Pitch and Putt" for 11am but were probably back on court at 2pm (according to the guy who cleans and prepares the courts).

Now when I am after a scoop, I can be quite a "stalker", so off I go to the Pitch and Putt which is just around the corner to offer my caddying services. Well by 11.30am, still nobody has turned up.  La Manga have sent a member of staff to open up specifically for our group and she asked me if I could send a message to one of them.  Well I don't have contact details so Twitter was the only option. I knew that Liam, JWH and Mark Hilts had gone home the night before but the rest were suppose to be staying an extra day. Leon and Josh M are not "tweeters" and I didn't know the two younger players (Ewan Moore and Charlie Broome ?), so I tried Alex Ward.  I sent him what was meant to be a slightly "tongue in cheek" tweet, suggesting that they had all been disqualified for failing to arrive on the 1st Tee on time.

Imagine my embarrassment then when about 2 hours later, Alex tweets that he has just landed in Edinburgh.  I'm guessing he knew nothing about the golf booking either, so he probably wonders what on earth I was going on about.  SORRY ALEX - if you are reading this

So no scoop today I'm afraid.  But at least I had a nice day out in the La Manga sunshine.  And I can strongly recommend the Sunday Roast in the "Si" bar.  Only 10.50 for a big plate of roast followed by apple crumble and custard.

Assuming the tennis forum is correct, I've removed Ed Corrie from Noumea and also taken Cav and Jasmine out off Turkey as they have now withdrawn.

James Ward is now 6th alt for Chennai which is where I think he will end up, chasing the slightly easier points.

I also think Wardy is heading for Chennai. Makes sense.

Do we think Ed might play ATP 250 qualifiers instead of Noumea? I thought maybe he might have a crack - he's capable of causing a few upsets!

Gosea has made main draw, all the girls have now dropped out of Turkey 10K, so a very quite week for the ITF players.

The Chennai qualifying draw is now out and James is not in it but the top seed in qualifying there was one place below him on the main draw entry list, so if James is not in the Doha qualifying draw (due out in the next hour or two), it probably means he went to Chennai and scraped into the main draw at the last moment. Here's hoping!

I'm sure we can rule out Brisbane as he would have had to qualify and James is not in the qualifying draw.

I would have thought that Chennai was the first preference.

Yes, I had ruled out Brisbane and he's far too low down the Alt list to scrape into the Doha main draw either, hence barring an unlikely main draw wild card, it's either Chennai main or Doha qualifying.
